One Lake Minnetonka Customer Still without Power from Stormy Weekend

A single household or business appears to be the last one left in the dark around Lake Minnetonka from the powerful June 2013 storms.

And then there was one.

After a series of summer storms that caused what's been described as the worst power outage event in Minnesota history—and left hundreds in the dark for days around Lake Minnetonka—a single local electric customer remains without service.

In fact, it may be the last Xcel customer without power in the Twin Cities. In a spo tcheck late Wednesday, none of the other pins on Xcel's outage map are for outages that began over the weekend.

According to Xcel's map, the customer lost power at 5:39 p.m. on Sunday, July 23, 2013. Xcel's estimate was that power would be restored by 11 p.m. Wednesday—but that has now come and gone.

If the marker on Xcel's map is pinned accurately, the customer is somewhere in the vicinity of Summit Park Cemetery in Wayzata, although the details listed with the pin list Orono as "communities served."
