Xcel Energy reported that hundreds of customers in cities around Lake Minnetonka lost power overnight as thunderstorms swept through the area.
The biggest single outage in the area reported at Xcel's online outage map affected 2,500 customers in Shorewood, Eden Prairie, Minnetonka and Chanhassen. They lost power at 2:07 a.m., and Xcel estimated restoring service at 6:28 a.m.
Other outages, mostly on the east side of the lake, were likely to end by 7:30 a.m. Friday, Xcel's map indicated.
