More than 2,500 Lose Power in Lake Minnetonka Area

Electricity went out for customers in six cities at about 7 p.m. Tuesday as storms rolled through.

At least 2,539 customers lost power in seven Lake Minnetonka cities as strong storms swept through the Twin Cities Tuesday.

The households and businesses in Mound, Orono, Minnetrista, Long Lake, Wayzata, Spring Park and Excelsior saw power go out at 7:13 p.m. Tuesday. Earlier time estimates for service to be restored came and went; as of 9:30 p.m. the utility expected power back on at 10:05 p.m.
