Off topic but I thought you would get a kick out of this, mammy: ;-)

"House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) blamed former President George W. Bush for the IRS' targeting of tea party groups in the lead-up to the 2012 election.

According to NowThisNews' Julie Eckert, Pelosi claimed Bush is responsible for the scandal because he appointed Douglas Shulman, former commissioner of the IRS. Shulman, who was appointed in 2008, left his post in November 2012, when his term expired."

For the record, I don't care for the woman and am not making any judgments about blame on this one yet.

Oh, so close! I was going to make history and agree with you 100%, Mike B., as I see many more women on their phones distracted and not paying attention to the road than men. I would just change your last line to "women drivers, while distracted on their phones, [...] can be the biggest menace on the roads".

The one that irritates me the most is a woman at a four way stop yapping on the phone and not realizing it's her turn to go--I bet I see this one at least once a week. Just sitting there while another three or four cars go through the intersection and she is holding up the people behind her and annoying everyone else at the intersection who are following the rules of the road.

It's time to put the phones away while we drive and I don't mean just texting.

See Randy, that's why I didn't want to be specific as it seems that I may have had it wrong and/or didn't have all the details.

Thanks for jumping in, Shawn and I look forward to being able to look at the link later.

I don't work for or represent Patch--it's best if you ask someone who does. I did speak to Shawn many months ago about some changes that were supposed to take place but I haven't seen them implemented yet. I've recently heard that changes will take place (including a certain number of flags that will automatically delete a comment) but I don't know all the specifics. Yes, Shawn and I have emailed and even met for coffee. He seems like a good guy interested in talking to people in the community (his job) AND the commenters if they choose, but I'm certainly not his pet. He's only doing his job and I'm not going to apologize for having been in contact.

I think you know that being a priest is a lot more than a job. From my understanding it is a calling and comes from a place of faith and wanting to serve. Although they must take direction from the church their work with people is what matters to me.

Randy, you continue to surprise me...

Yes, anonimity is important to me mostly for my business, but many already know who I am. I could write that you didn't answer my question but because there was (almost) no snark, I will be happy to answer.

Yes, I have flagged comments when they are in clear violation of Patch's user agreement--which the comment above is, but it is up to the editor, not me. And even though another comment below also probably viotes the terms of use, I didnt flag it as sometimes it is fun to banter with these people who often change their profile names so they can take out their internal anger or emotional troubles anonymously online.

The frequency usually depends on the conversation. If you take out the SSM debates, it's not very often at all, but when adding that in, you often see so much misinformation, lies, and hate being spewed that yes, I will flag those comments. Not because I disagree but because the hate and lies are often abusive and distracting to those having a good discussion--never mind voilating terms of use. But again, it's not up to me.

I agree with your assesment of the Catholic Church except that I know that there are many many priests who do wonderful work in their communities and lumping everything all together is taking away from what they do, IMO.

BTW, anyone can email any editor for information if they choose to do so.

Who says Shawn told me anything? You have a terrible habit of coming to inaccurate conclusions and assuming things just for the sake of your own mean spirited entertainment--you should really see someone about that.

Ok, let's play your little game, but first you must honestly answer some of my questions if you expect or demand answers from me. What is your real name? Why the incessant need to be so insulting to those who disagree? What's the REAL reason for your hostility towards the Catholic Church?

Now you can honestly answer my questions (and somehow persuade me that you are being honest) and I will answer your questions above or I can do as you do and guess with the most unflattering answers possible.

Hugs and kisses to you too, RMS. You know that, although strenuous for the impaired, you can tap a key on that phone for caps, right? Maybe you should get back to work now.

Hilarious that this has turned into a censorship conversation. Of-course "hilarious" is sarcastic being as this was about two men getting in a bar fight and one them dying. I was perfectly content to leave this thread alone until our friend, 'Jimmy The Lake' decided to ask me a question. Shame on him and shame on me for answering!...more sarcasm.

Randy, it's none of your damn business. I appreciate that Patch allows most comments to be posted without review--unlike that boring, out of date Strib. This should be fun though when the flagging rules change.

Let's see if Shawn deletes that.
