The Red Knights beat the Trojans on Monday, 4-3.
Benilde-St. Margaret's scored four goals in the second period and held on in the third for a road win over Section 6AA rival Wayzata on Monday, 4-3. The game was originally set for Jan. 5, but it was rescheduled in the wake of the injury to BSM sophomore Jack Jablonski. Jablonski was paralyzed by a hit he took in a junior varsity game against Wayzata on Dec. 30. Coaches decided to postpone the Jan. 5 game after they deemed players weren't emotionally ready to return to the ice. BSM head coach Ken Pauly said he didn't think that backdrop played much of a role in Monday's outcome. "This was about two Section 6AA rivals playing," he said. The Red Knights (No. 8 in Class AA) and Wayzata (No. 9) are certainly two of the better teams in the …

Ice conditions will not be suitable for three consecutive varsity hockey games, organizers say.
Three high school hockey games originally scheduled to be played Jan. 21 on Lake Minnetonka as part of Hockey Day 2012 have been moved indoors. Event organizers said in a statement made Thursday afternoon that recent warm weather would not allow for ice that would "provide a safe, playable surface of the quality necessary for the three consecutive high school varsity games scheduled." The three games will be played at their previously-scheduled times, and tickets will be available at the Pagel Activity Center in Minnetonka. Tickets already purchased will be honored, according to the Hockey Day Minnesota website. The North American Pond Hockey Championship and the Jack Jablonski Junior Bronze Pond Hockey Tournament will be played on …
Jack Jablonski, a Benilde-St. Margaret's sophomore hockey player, was paralyzed by a hit he took in a game on Dec. 30.

Warm weather allowed golfers to hit the links in January for "Jabs."
A charity golf tournament drew more than 100 golfers Tuesday in an effort to raise money for the Jack Jablonski Fund. The event was held at the CreeksBend Golf Course in New Prague. Hosted by twincitiesgolf.com, it was the first January tournament held outdoors in the 15-year history of the website. Golfers paid $20 each, with half of the proceeds going to the fund. You can see photos of the event on twincitiesgolf.com's Facebook page. There was also a silent auction that raised money for "Jabs." "It hits close to home, a lot of us either grew up playing hockey or we have kids playing hockey, and I think as a community, this creates an opportunity for us to bond together and really create a miracle," Kevin Unterreiner of twincitiesgolf.com…
