8 Spots to Find Off-Leash Dog Areas in Three Rivers Parks

These pet-friendly areas give dogs a chance to run and interact with other dogs. Check out the video of a visit to the park.

Is your dog itching to get outdoors? The Three Rivers Park District has eight off-leash dog parks in the metro area for owners to bring their pets for some exercise and socialization. A pass is required to use an off-leash dog area and patrons will need to follow Three Rivers rules and agreements when at the park. The following public safety summary of information from the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office Patrol Unit that includes highlights from Feb. 19-24, 2013. In addition to the law enforcement services it provides throughout the county, the HCSO provides primary patrol services for the communities of Hassan Township, Greenfield, Medicine Lake and Fort Snelling, as well as the Hennepin County portions of Hanover and Rockford. The report was provided by the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office. Not all incidents are included in the summary. Dayton Rockford Greenfield Medicine Lake Hanover The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office patrol deputies also issued five citations.

Reports Received of Food Laced With Glass at Three Rivers Dog Park

Three Rivers Park District Representative: “It is important to note that we have been unable to confirm those reports” referring to recent reports from nearby Crow Hassan Off-Leash Dog Park.

Three Rivers Park District recently received four reports of food or candy items laced with glass at the Crow Hassan Off-Leash Dog Park in nearby Hanover. “It is important to note that we have been unable to confirm those reports,” Three Rivers Park District Media Relations Specialist Tom Knisely wrote in an email to Patch. “However, we are taking the matter seriously and our public safety officers and park maintenance staff are keeping a watchful eye on the dog off leash area at Crow Hassan. “ There have been no reports of such incidents at other Three Rivers off-leash dog parks, including those at Fish Lake and Elm Creek Regional Parks in Maple Grove.    Three Rivers Park District first received a report in September 2012.  Park police …
