by Lorrie Ham Nine Mound Westonka High School musicians were selected for the Second Annual Wright County Conference (WCC) Honor Band, which performed Jan. 12 in Hutchinson. Band directors from the WCC were asked to nominate their best students. Student selections were made to ensure that all schools in the conference were represented, as well as to provide the correct number of students to play each instrument. Representing Westonka were Leah Pinault, Zach Blume, Hannah Randklev, Grant Harrison, Kristen Holmberg, Timmy Levens, Rob Stokes, Elle Montgomery and Hanna Brustad. By Lorrie Ham Eleven Westonka musicians were chosen to take part in the inaugral Wright County Conference Honor Band on Jan. 14 in Hutchinson. Directors from each school in the conference nominated at least 10 of their best students to take part in the event. Representing Westonka were Kate Smith and Leah Pinalt on flute; Hannah Randklev and Ashley Krajewski on clarinet; Abbey Woods on bass clarinet; Anna Pinault and Chris Empey on alto sax; Kristen Holmberg and Timmy Levens on horn; Hanna Brustad on tuba and Nick Battis on percussion.
