Over 2,700 bike riders began in Minnetonka and rode through 23 cities on Saturday.
The rain stopped just in time for Tour de Tonka. Over 2,700 bike riders took five different routes through 23 Minnesota cities on Saturday. Aug. 4. The five routes for riders of all abilities (16, 26, 43, 77 and 100 miles) began and ended at Minnetonka High School. Tour de Tonka, the annual Minnetonka Community Education multi-distanced bicycle ride promotes and celebrates healthy lifestyles, friendship, teamwork and recreation through the collaboration of cities, sponsors, local charities and hundreds of volunteers. Tour de Tonka, the annual Minnetonka Community Education multi-distanced bicycle ride through several Lake Minnetonka communities for cyclists of all ages, promotes and celebrates healthy lifestyles, friendship, teamwork and recreation through the collaboration of cities, sponsors, local charities and hundreds of volunteers. This year's ride takes place on Saturday, Aug. 4. There are five different routes for riders of all abilities: 16, 26, 43, 77 and 100 miles. All races begin and end at Minnetonka High School. Volunteers are still needed. There are 450 volunteer slots for this ride. Registration fees go up on July 23, and the deadline for group registration is July 27.
