Cross-Country Ski Trail, Sledding Hill Conditions in Three Rivers Parks

Checking out trails or sledding hills? Make sure to find out the snow conditions first.

The following was provided by Three Rivers Park District as of Feb. 14, 2013.  For more information, call the trail hotline at 763-559-6778.  Three Rivers Park District parks are open 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, facility hours vary.  Open Sledding Hills Good Trail Conditions Fair Trail Conditions  Check out the individual park pages for ski trail maps. Cross County Ski Lessons in the Three Rivers Park District

From beginner to intermediate, cross county ski lessons are available Feb. 10-16, 2013 in the Three Rivers Park District.

The following information was provided by Three Rivers Park District. Reservations may be required. Visit the Three Rivers Park District website for more information.            Ski-Skating I: Basics Sunday, Feb.10, from 9:30-11:30 a.m., at Elm Creek Park Reserve, Maple Grove. Learn beginning ski-skating techniques, including efficient edging, gliding and control. Prior classic skiing experience is required. Cost is $22 or $37 with ski rental. This lesson is for ages 13+. Morning Traveling Nordic Ski Club The Morning Traveling Ski Club meets on Wednesday mornings, Jan. 2 through Feb. 20, from 10-11:30 a.m. The club will meet at Elm Creek Park Reserve, Maple Grove, on Jan. 2 and 9, at Hyland Lake Park Reserve, Bloomington, on Jan. 16 and 23, at French Regional Park, Plymouth, on Jan. 30 and Feb. 6, and at Baker Park Reserve, Medina, on Feb. 13 and 20. Meet the latest addition to Lake Street's business community

Sun & Ski brings a complete line of clothing and accessories to the shores of Lake Minnetonka.

A familiar name in the outdoor apparal game returns to Wayzata this week.  Jim McWethy and his wife, Robin, today opened Sun & Ski, the newest business to join the Lake Street commercial district. The new store carries a wide range of sporting gear and accessories for all levels of outdoor enthusiasts. "I think there's a niche for a business like ours, and we're excited to be filling it," Jim McWethy said.  Area residents may recognize the McWethys from their many years at the Wayzata Ski Hut, an operation that recently closed. The McWethys say they are excited to reconnect with longtime customers and friends.
