Wayzata Man Charged with Burglarizing Home, Stealing Valuable Jewelry

Police say Patrick Henry McKeever burglarized the Plymouth home of his aunt and uncle and sold almost $3,000 worth of stolen jewelry to a Wayzata jewelry store.

A Wayzata man has been charged with breaking into a home in Plymouth and stealing jewelry which, police say, he later sold at a Wayzata jewelry store. Patrick Henry McKeever, 25, is charged with receiving stolen property, a felony with a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine. The victims called police on Nov. 23 and reported that someone had burglarized their home in the 18700 block of 11th Avenue North while they were out of town and had stolen a safe containing a number of pieces of valuable jewelry, according to the criminal complaint, signed by Plymouth Police Officer Kevin Pregler. The victims told police that they suspected their nephew, McKeever, whom they said was addicted to drugs and had been in legal trouble …

School Bus Crash on Vicksburg Lane, Two Injured

A car collided with a First Student school bus just before 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of 57th Avenue North and Vicksburg Lane.

A school bus was driving north on Vicksburg Lane when a car at a stop sign on 57th Avenue North pulled in front of the bus Friday morning, according to police. The bus was part of the Wayzata School District, according to a Wayzata Public Schools transportation dispatcher. "Both occupants in the car were injured and both were transported to a hospital," Plymouth Police Department Sgt. Curtis Smith said in an interview with Patch. "Their injuries were not minor, but not life-threatening. No children were injured." The Plymouth Fire Department was called to help extricate the driver. Minnesota State Patrol is assisting with the investigation. After the collision, the bus was inspected and was still safe to drive.
