Well, today is my last day at the Mound Police Department—my retirement starts tomorrow. I am looking forward to retirement and the fun plans we have made, such as spending more time with our family, flying to Puerto Rico and taking a cruise with some very dear friends in February, putting our house up for sale in January and moving to Hanover sometime this summer (we have been working with an architect for several months now), closing on our land in Hanover tomorrow and plan to start building as soon as the ground thaws! I have enjoyed the 35 years I have been with the Mound Police Department and working with each of you. I will continue to pray for the safety of our law enforcement officers and ask that you say a prayer when you see an …

The statistics cover violent crime—including murder, forcible rape, robbery and aggravated assault—and property crimes such as burglary, larceny and motor vehicle theft as reported by city and town law enforcement agencies. Data was collected by gathering statistics from city and town law enforcement agencies. All police departments in the Lake Minnetonka area complied with the FBI's data collection methodology for 2011. Population numbers are calculated using the 2010 U.S. Census results and applying average national population growth rates. Deephaven/ Woodland Aggravated Assault Larceny

An arrest warrant has been issued for a Mound woman after prosecutors charged her earlier this month with swindling nearly $10,000 from an elderly family friend. The manager of a local bank first reported Tonja Larson, 35, to police back in 2011 following a string of suspicious cash withdrawals made by Larson from an elderly customer's account. Sergeant Kenneth Beck of the Mound Police Department wrote in the criminal complaint filed against Larson this week that the withdrawrals took place over the course of 18 months and had recently evolved to include taking out cash advances against the customer's credit cards.
