Meet the Latest Lord Fletcher's Feature Teacher: Jenny Hofstad

Hofstad is a second-grade teacher at Hilltop Primary School. She graduated from Jamestown College in North Dakota and subsequently earned her Masters’ degree from St. Mary’s University in Winona.

She graduated from Jamestown College in North Dakota and subsequently earned her Masters’ degree from St. Mary’s University in Winona. Hofstad has spent 20 years in the Westonka District, teaching kindergarten, fourth-grade and Adventure Club in addition to second-grade. Prior to coming to Westonka, she did her student teaching at Sunset Hills and Plymouth Creek in Wayzata. Meet Westonka's February 2013 Feature Teacher: Kay Ostman Saxvik

As a sixth-grader teacher at Grandview Middle School, Ostman Saxvik has taught science, math, reading, English and social studies.

Ostman Saxvik, a sixth-grader teacher at Grandview Middle School, has spent her entire 21-year teaching career in the Westonka Schools. She graduated with an Elementary Ed and Special Ed Degree from St. Cloud University and subsequently earned her Masters in Teaching and Learning from St. Mary’s University in Winona. As a sixth-grader teacher, Ostman Saxvik has taught science, math, reading, English and social studies. Krista Fisher has taught small group English and small group guided studies for 11 years at Westonka.

Fisher has taught small group English and small group guided studies for 11 years at Westonka. Prior to working at Westonka, Fisher was a paraprofessional and worked with students with developmental disabilities at the Orono School District for three years and at the Rockford School District for two years. Fisher went to college later in life, earning her degree in special education in 2001 with a specific license in learning disabilities at St. Cloud State University. Meet Westonka's November Feature Teacher: Beth Harstad

Each Feature Teacher winner receives a certificate for a brunch for two at Lord Fletcher’s.

by Lorrie Ham The Westonka School District’s Feature Teacher for November is Beth Harstad, a fourth-grade teacher at Hilltop Primary School. Harstad has spent her entire 26-year teaching career in the Westonka District, where she has taught the first, second and fourth grades. Harstad earned her Bachelor’s degree from Mankato State University and her Master’s from the University of Minnesota. Outside of the classroom, Harstad has coached girls basketball and served on every Hilltop Committee and Curriculum Lead at least once, including Student Council, Shared Decisions and SIT. Morinville currently teaches chemistry, honors chemistry and AP physics at Mound Westonka High School.

Morinville has spent seven years in the Westonka School District. She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in chemistry from the University of Minnesota-Duluth and subsequently earned her Masters in teaching and learning from St. Mary’s University in Winona. Morinville currently teaches chemistry, honors chemistry and AP physics at Mound Westonka High School. Meet Cyndi Loewen: Westonka's Latest 'Feature Teacher'

By Lorrie Ham Cyndi Loewen has been named the Lord Fletcher’s Feature Teacher for March. Loewen is a special education teacher at Hilltop Primary School. She graduated from Martin Luther College in New Ulm with a major in elementary education and a math minor, and subsequently earned her Masters in differentiated instruction from Concordia College. Loewen has spent the past eight years in Special Ed at Hilltop teaching math and reading. Prior to that, Lowen taught in Laveen, South Phoenix for three years, teaching Special Education Middle School to grades four, five and six; East Fork Lutheran, Apache Reservation, grades one and two for two years and several Lutheran Schools in the Midwest at multi-grade level classrooms.
