To the Editor: Leigh Harrod is running for Three Rivers Park District Board of Commissioners, District 4. Although I am not a Hennepin County resident, I am none-the-less a frequent user of the parks. I speak for many of the 8 million annual visitors who enjoy these parks, however, we don’t get to vote for the Three Rivers Park Commissioners. Still we care who they are. Leigh brings extensive hands-on expertise to the table, along with an extreme passion to preserve the environment while analyzing all aspects of park usability. She is relentless in pursuit of information and solutions – technical and financial. Her unique skill set would enhance the knowledge base of the Park District. The District Vision Plan’s #1 Action – straight …

To the editor: I endorse Leigh Harrod for Park Commissioner for Three Rivers Park District. As a retired CEO, park and environment enthusiast I take the selection of Park Commissioner very seriously. Leigh Harrod meets all criteria. She is a geologist with a thorough knowledge in matters of the environment and natural resources. She has demonstrated a depth of understanding public policy, finance and possesses a creative way of thinking. During the past four years she served on the Excelsior Charter Commission, of which I chaired. During that time I found her to be very reliable, knowledgeable and a dependable commission member. To the Editor: Many people may not take the time to look into or compare the two candidates for Park Commissioner for Three Rivers Park District, but they do so at the peril of their parks. Just compare the two, and take a good look at the website of Leigh Harrod, www.harrod4parks.com She is amazing, having spent a lifetime working with natural resources. She did not just become a recent convert to the environmental cause so she could run for this office. Her opponent is a former government employee seeking big name endorsements and donations from others to finance his political campaign. Leigh Harrod will not do so, and she remains independent in her grass roots effort. First, as a knowledgeable and experienced natural resource manager…
