Orono Senior Spotlight: Danny Willson

Patch.com catches up with senior, Danny Willson, of the Orono boy's hockey team.

Senior captain, Danny Willson, plays center for the Orono boy’s hockey team. He has played for Orono hockey all of his high school career. Son of Sarah and Chris Willson, he plans to attend Carlson at the University of Minnesota, but as of now his major is undecided.   Orono plays rival team Mound-Westonka this Friday at 7 p.m. at the Orono Ice Arena. Photos: Wayzata Boys Hockey Team Beats Maple Grove in Turkey Trot Tournament

The Trojan varsity team won 4-1 Nov. 23, 2012, but ended up losing the title game to Edina.

After coming off a state tournament run last year, the Maple Grove Senior High boys hockey team lost one of their first games of the season Friday, Nov. 23 with a 4-1 loss against Wayzata High School. The Crimson faced the Trojans in the annual Wayzata Turkey Trot tournament. For Wayzata, each of the four goals was a varsity career first for freshman Max Zimmer, juniors Chad Olson and Chandler Linstrand and sophomore Matthew Freytag, according to the Star Tribune. Sophomore Joe Norenberg scored the only goal for the Crimson.
