The following was released by Hennepin County: David J. Hough has been unanimously chosen by the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners for the position of Hennepin County administrator. Hough, Hennepin’s deputy county administrator, has been acting county administrator since the retirement of Richard P. Johnson in December 2012. Hough served in the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office from 1982 to 2008, when he left as manager of the office’s civil division to become deputy county administrator. The following was released by Hennepin County: Commissioner Mike Opat of the 1st District was unanimously re-elected chair of the seven-member Hennepin County Board of Commissioners Tuesday at the at the board’s organizational meeting for 2013. “I’m grateful for the support of my fellow commissioners,” said Opat. “I expect us to continue to be a busy and productive board in 2013. The Hennepin Board takes seriously our position as a leading local unit of government in Minnesota, and we look forward to the challenges ahead.” Opat has served on the board since 1993. An engineer and inn owner challenges for the Hennepin County 6th District Commissioner seat.
Editor's Note: Patch is running bios on the candidates for Hennepin County 6th District Commissioner seats. These races will be decided during the General Election on Nov. 6. Today, we look at challenger Dave Wahlstedt. On Friday, we'll look at Jan Callison, the incumbent in this race.
