Orono Mound Westonka Boys Swim and Dive Improves to 2-0 in Conference

OMW turned in five first place finishes in swim events and clinched the top-three spots in diving.

With a decisive 107-79 win against Wright Conference rival Hutchinson on Jan. 10, the Orono Mound Westonka (OMW) co-op boys swim and dive team is 2-0 in the conference and 5-1 overall. OMW turned in five first place finishes in swim events and clinched the top three spots in diving. “This was a good dual meet for us,” said Mound Westonka senior captain Ryan Strother. “Our training over winter break helped quite a bit and we are looking forward to competing as a team for the rest of season.” The meet got underway with a touch-out by OMW’s 200-yard medley relay team with Mound Westonka’s senior captain Merv Moorhead, senior Damian Urwyler, Strother and Orono senior captain Miller to win with 1:45.18.
