April Showers, Weather and Spring Babies: Outings for Kids in the Three Rivers Park District

Mark your calendar for a variety of low-cost activities for children April 7-13, 2013. Reservations are required for some event.

The following was provided by the Three Rivers Park District.  My Preschooler & Me: Nature Discoveries: Wake Up, Bears! Sunday, April 7, from 1:30-3 p.m., at Eastman Nature Center, in Elm Creek Park Reserve, Dayton. Listen to the book “Bear Wants More” by Karma Wilson. Bring your teddy bear to play games and have a picnic snack. Turn into a bear by making ears and a mask, and go on a spring hike. Cost is $5 and reservations are required. Spring, Snakes and Syrup: Preschool Activities in Three Rivers Parks District

Preschoolers in the west metro can check out a variety of nature-related activities throughout March 11-14, 2013.

The following information was provided by Three Rivers Park District. Preschool Drop-Off: Kits & Cubs: Colors in Nature Monday, March 11, from 1-3 p.m., at Eastman Nature Center, in Elm Creek Park Reserve, Dayton. Drop off your kids to explore nature in spring. They will discover the natural world through hands-on learning including stories, art, songs, games, play activities, and hikes. A snack is included. Cost is $10 and reservations are required. From babies to big kids, there are a variety of nature-based activities for children happening in Three Rivers Parks March 1-16, 2013.

Find out which birds are returning from the south, and when to expect them. Get tips on how to attract them to your yard. This program is free and open to all ages. Free Family Fun Day: City Critters Sunday, March 3, from 1-3 p.m., at Kroening Interpretive Center, in North Mississippi Regional Park, Brooklyn Center. Feed the birds and learn about turkeys with upcoming Three Rivers parks activities for Nov. 20-21, 2012 in the north metro.
