'Act of Kindness' Contest Kicks off in Memory of Sandy Hook Victim
The mother of Charlotte Bacon, one of the first-grade victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, is an Orono High School graduate.
“It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.” That sentiment, a quote by Frederick Douglass, is the motivation behind an Act of Kindness Contest for Kids that has kicked off in memory of Charlotte Bacon, a victim of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. Charlotte's mother, JoAnn, is a native of Orono and graduate of Orono High School. Newtown, Conn., resident Jodie Adolfson contacted Lake Minnetonka Patch over the weekend to encourage residents to participate in the contest.
