Emily Johnson of Chanhassen was 86 years old.
Emily Johnson, 86, Chanhassen, died Friday, April 12, 2013. Services were held Wednesday, April 17 at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Bloomington. Visitation was Tuesday, April 16 at Gearty-Delmore Chapel in Plymouth. Emily, who was a graduate of Wayzata High School, served as a counselor for the Rev. Billy Graham's outreach group, the Billy Graham Association. She is preceded in death by her husband, Don. Survivors are her children, Stephen Johnson, Linda (Mike) Kohlhof, Brabara (Steve) Rains and Patricia Meier; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Susan Schroeder, Ann Olson, Jack (Alice) Jakupciak, and Jeanne (Al) Friske; nieces, nephews and friends. Emily will be buried at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

The bill would change the way Minnesota calculates LGA but won't start money flowing into most Lake Minnetonka city coffers.
Years without getting local government aid will stay that way for Lake Minnetonka cities. Other Minnesota cities could see payments balloon under a new proposal that would inject tens of millions of dollars into the system and change the way those millions are distributed. A bill by state Rep. Ben Lien of Moorhead (DFL-4A) would add $80 million to the $426 million that the state is scheduled to spend on local government aid (LGA) in 2014. One Lake Minnetonka city would get LGA money only under the Lien plan: Mound gets nothing under current law or under the Dayton plan, but it would get more than $300,000 in 2014 local government aid under Lien's bill. The grandson and grandmother passed away after going through the ice in Lake Minnetonka Feb. 2. A memorial service is Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013.
Ten days after the deaths of Harland Dietrich and Mary Ann Haram, friends and family are preparing for a memorial service. Maple Grove residents Harland Dietrich, 31,and Mary Ann Haram, 87, were identified as the drowning victims in a Feb. 2 Lake Minnetonka accident. A memorial service will take place at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013 at the Champlin American Legion, located at 12450 Business Park Boulevard N. in Champlin. “Grandmother and Grandson had a very unique bond and will be greatly missed by all who knew them,” according to an obituary notice on StarTribune.com.
