Wayzata Resident Elected to Red Cross' Board of Directors

The 35 members represent a wide array of companies, non-profit organizations, and communities across Minnesota.

Wayzata resident Lydia Botham was elected to the American Red Cross Northern Minnesota Region Board of Directors at the organization’s annual meeting on June 25. 

“Lydia’s expertise will be greatly appreciated on our Board of Directors,” said CEO Phil Hansen.  “We’re excited to gain her unique perspective while working together to ensure the American Red Cross can carry out its mission.”

Botham currently serves as the Executive Director of the Land O’Lakes Foundation and Director of Community Relations where she is responsible for delivering on the Land O’Lakes Foundation’s mission to alleviate hunger, advance in education and strengthen the community, building the company's reputation in the communities in which Land O'Lakes and its farmer members work and live, and driving sponsorships which supports Lake O’Lakes’ overall reputation initiatives.

The Board of Directors for the Northern Minnesota Region is a voluntary advisory body, supporting Red Cross staff and volunteers in support of the Red Cross mission.  The 35 members represent a wide array of companies, non-profit organizations, and communities across Minnesota.  Board meetings also include liaisons to the MN National Guard and the MN Emergency Management Agency.

The new members of the board were recognized at the Joint Annual Meeting & Volunteer Recognition event on Tuesday, June 25, at the Profile Event Center.  In addition, keynote speaker, Josh Lockwood, CEO of the American Red Cross Greater New York Region, shared his powerful experiences from the Red Cross response to Superstorm Sandy and a local Red Cross History Museum was displayed.
