Volunteers Sought for Vacancy on Riley-Purgatory-Bluff Creek Watershed Board

Residents of Shorewood, Deephaven and Minnetonka are eligible for the three-year position.

The Hennepin County Board of Commissioners is seeking applicants for a vacancy on the Riley-Purgatory-Bluff Creek Watershed District Board, due to the expiration of term of office July 31 of board incumbent Jill Crafton, who is seeking reappointment.

This board coordinates management of water and related land resources within the areas generally tributary to Riley, Purgatory and Bluff creeks in southwest Hennepin and northeast Carver counties. A member may not be a public officer of the county, state or federal government and must be a resident of the district, which in Hennepin County includes portions of Bloomington, Eden Prairie, Minnetonka, Deephaven and Shorewood.

Because of the nature of the board, it is helpful for members to have a background in water conservation, development, law, engineering, environment or public administration.
