Down on the Farm: Summer News and Notes from Gale Woods

Store's freezer is packed with farm-raised meat for sale.

Farmer Tim Update:
This has turned into quite a nice summer for the animals and farmers here at Gale Woods. While many people are complaining about the cool weather, after last summer’s heat and the stress it caused for our livestock (and for us!), this year has been much more pleasant. A summer calf was born last week and the cool weather was good for both baby and momma. The hard work of making hay has been easier and we just finished putting the round bales up into the ever popular hay maze. We still have several weeks of summer left and we’ll need a little heat to ripen the tomatoes and melons, but for now we are enjoying the respite. Hope you are, too!

Grilling Season is Here!
Our store freezer is pleasantly filled with all sorts of pasture-raised grill-ables. From whole chicken to boneless pork chops to hamburger patties (nicely pre-formed, four quarter-pounders per package – it doesn’t get any easier!). Stop on in and shop for breakfast, lunch and dinner!

Please call 763.694.2001 if you are looking for a specific cut, quantity or price. Our visitor center and farm store is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 12-5 PM on Sunday. We accept cash, credit card and checks.
