A Greek Easter—Happy Easter from Itea

See why I continue to travel.... The world is a book... and sometimes each page I turn is pure poetry...

Happy Easter to you!

6:30 a.m. — a Full Moon in the Sky... So beautiful this reflection of light...Against the early morning blue—this amber ball shines through. Easter is our time to renew. The friendships we once knew and rekindle the ones that have fallen away. Easter is that special day.

Back in 2002 I was in Itea Greece on Easter morn, the ship pulled in and everything was closed. The captain told us to look around, walk back and what we found... were families gathered round in the streets of this torwn. There were people dancing in the street from toddlers to 98. I was invited in to dine and eat from an old man who could not speak. A child with eyes as black as coal...looked at me and I was told—"This day is Easter here in Greece and here it is our day of peace. Each family will be together no matter what the weather. All is forgiven on this day and together everyone will play. Family members that had not talked all year were invited to dance and cheer. This day we set aside all the things that kept us apart and likve with love in our heart.
