Lucia will turn 18 in August and was the highest-ranked Minnesota prospect in this year's draft.

Mario Lucia is the son of Don Lucia, the head hockey coach for the U of M.

Mario Lucia's teammate on Wayzata's hockey team, Tony Cameranesi, was also drafted in the fifth round. The Toronto Maple Leafs took Cameranesi 130th overall.

Cameranesi, a 5-foot-9, 162-pound center, led the Trojans with 54 points last season. He scored 15 goals and tallied 39 assists during the regular season, then added nine points in the playoffs.
