Wayzata Track Takes Top Spots at Blustery Lake Conference Relays
Boys take first, girls place second at first annual Lake Conference Relays held on Friday
The Wayzata boys track and field team won the first annual Lake Conference Relays on Friday at the University of Minnesota’s Bierman Field.
The Trojans finished the day with a team score of 152.5 points, besting second place Minnetonka by 5.5 points. Ten teams competed at the relays—all five Lake Conference squads along with Monticello, Chanhassen, Henry Sibley, Chaska and Chisago Lakes.
The Trojans girls track and field team took second overall with 123.0 points on the day, second to Eden Prairie’s 133.0 finish.

Wayzata picked up first place finishes in the 1600 meter medley relay (3:38.42), the 4x1600 meter relay (18:11.3), the 3x300 meter hurdles relay (2:10.81), the high jump relay (17-1), the shot put relay (133-1), the high jump (6-2) and the pole vault (11-6).
Wayzata’s girls took first place in the long jump relay (45-10.25), the shot put relay (94-2), the discus relay (301-11) and the shot put (40-11.5).
