The Wayzata boys soccer team pulled into a tie atop the Lake Conference standings with a thrilling 2-1 overtime victory at No. 4-ranked Edina on Tuesday night.

Alexi Moua scored the game-winning tally in the extra session after the two teams were knotted at 1-1 after the first 80 minutes of play.

The game was scoreless at halftime, and well into the second half, until John Kornahrens logged the go-ahead goal for Wayzata in the 68th minute to put the visitors up 1-0.

The Hornets poured on the pressure, but Trojans goalkeeper Grant Larson and the Wayzata defense were up to the task, turning aside shot after shot until Edina finally logged the tying goal in the 75th minute to send the game into overtime.

That was where Moua ended it, with his goal vaulting Wayzata into even standing with the Hornets, with each team owning a 5-2 conference record with one game remaining in the regular season.
