Orono Boys Golf: Clark Leads Spartans To Invitational Victory

Dakota Clark carded a three-under-par 69 at Albion Ridges to lead the Orono boys golf team to a score of 300 and a victory in the Dassel-Cokato Invitational on Wednesday.

Orono Girls Lacrosse: Spartans Eliminated In Sectionals

The Orono girls lacrosse team was defeated, 9-5, at Robbinsdale Armstrong in its Section 6 Tournament opener on Tuesday.

Shea Noerenberg scored three goals, with Madeleine Wiltgren and Catherine Fraser netting one tally apiece in the loss. The Spartans season came to a close with a 5-9 record.

Orono Softball: Spartans Advance In Section 6AAA

A 6-2 defeat of fifth-seeded Benilde-St. Margaret's in its opening game of the Section 6AAA Tournament advanced the Orono softball team to a winner's bracket semifinal matchup against top-seeded Hopkins at 5 p.m. Thursday at Richfield Middle School.

Orono Baseball: Spartans 10, Annandale 0

The Orono baseball team shutout Annandale, 10-0, on Tuesday to improve to 5-12 overall and 4-12 in the Wright County Conference. Individual results were not available.

Mound Westonka Girls Lacrosse: Chaska/Chanhassen 13, White Hawks 12

The Mound Westonka girls lacrosse team saw its season conclude on Tuesday with a 13-12 loss at Chaska/Chanhassen in the opening round of the Section 6 playoffs.

Kia Johnson's seven goals were not quite enough to lead the White Hawks to victory, with Jessica Nkhata scoring three times and Kayla Schultz twice in the defeat.

Mound Westonka's season ended with a 7-5 record.

Mound Westonka Softball: Delano 1, White Hawks 0

A 1-0 loss to Delano in the semifinals of the Section 5AA East sub-section playoffs brought the Mound Westonka softball team's season to an end on Tuesday. The White Hawks put together a 14-4 record this spring.

An 11-5 loss to Chanhassen on Tuesday dropped the Mound Westonka baseball team to 12-8 overall this spring.

The White Hawks, 12-6 in Wright County play, close out the regular season by hosting conference front-runner Dassel-Cokato at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

A score of 338 earned the Mound Westonka boys golf team a fifth-place finish in the Dassel-Cokato Invitational at Albion Ridges on Wednesday.

Wayzata Softball: Trojans Advance In Sectional Play

The Wayzata softball team, seeded second in the Section 6AAA Tournament, defeated No. 7 seed Robbinsdale Cooper by a 10-1 score to advance to the winner's bracket semifinals on Thursday at Richfield Middle School.

The Trojans will face defending sectional champion Richfield, seeded third this year, on Thursday at 5 p.m.

Wayzata Girls Lacrosse: Trojans Top Buffalo In Section 6

A 12-2 defeat of Buffalo in its Section 6 Tournament opener advanced the Wayzata girls lacrosse team into the quarterfinals.

The Trojans will host Champlin Park on Thursday at 5 p.m.

Wayzata Boys Lacrosse: Trojans Drub Cooper In Sectional Opener

The Wayzata boys lacrosse team opened the Section 6 playoffs with a 21-3 thumping of Robbinsdale Cooper on Tuesday.

With the victory, the Trojans advance to play at Maple Grove in the sectional quarterfinals at 7 p.m. Thursday.
