Orono Fourth Grade Girls Basketball Team Wins Grade State Championship

Orono overcame a halftime tie to secure the win.

The Orono fourth grade girls basketball team won the division B MYAS grade state championship last weekend. The team defeated Chanhassen and Osseo-Maple Grove before meeting Triton in the championship game.

The championship game was a rematch of a previous weekend game against Triton in the Rochester Tournament. Orono lost that game to Triton by 9 points and was looking forward to another opportunity to play them.

In the first half of the game, the teams fought a defensive battle. By halftime, the score was only 2-2.
