Orono Mound Westonka Boys Swim and Dive Continues Strong Season

With a third of the regular season behind them, Mound Westonka seniors Tyler Jordahl and Ryan Strother are undefeated in their signature events.

In two Class AA dual meets before winter break, the Orono Mound Westonka (OMW) co-op boys swim and dive team split with a loss to St. Michael Albertville 96-85 on Dec. 18 and then two days later won decisively against Cambridge Isanti 100-81.

Strong individual performances were evident in both meets. With a third of the regular season behind them, two team members are undefeated in their signature events. Mound Westonka senior diver Tyler Jordahl has placed first in the past three dual meets and one invitational and Mound Westonka Senior captain Ryan Strother remains undefeated in the 50-yard freestyle.

“We have done exceptionally well so far this year beating several AA teams including Cambridge-Isanti, even  with nearly a quarter of our team out sick, said Orono senior captain Spencer Cumming.
