Mound Westonka Wrestlers Take 10th at Bunyan Invite
The Bunyan Invite is one of the toughest tournaments in the state, and the White Hawks competed well against many state-ranked teams.

The Mound Westonka White Hawks wrestling team placed 10th at the Paul Bunyan Invite in Brainerd on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 7 and 8.

“We have a lot of tough kids that need to be challenged, and this was just the tournament for that. Although we didn’t place as high as we had hoped, we got a lot of tough matches in which will prove valuable in the end,” said head coach Todd Munsterteiger.
Placing for the White Hawks were: Ryan Reid, 7th; Ben Rogers, 5th; Ryder Schmidt, 4th; Drake Heath, Tyler Hebig and Bryan Tierney, 3rd; and Sam Bennyhoff, 2nd.

The White Hawks will travel to New London-Spicer on Thursday, Dec. 13 to open the dual meet and conference season, taking on the host Wildcats as well as the Annandale-Maple Lake Lightning at 6 p.m. The White Hawks will then host section opponents Buffalo and Minnetonka, along with Chaska/Chanhassen, on Friday, Dec. 14.
Wrestling starts at 5 p.m.
