Long Lake Rowing Club Launches 'Friendly' New Boat

The Long Lake Rowing Club will be hosting the Minneapolis Sprints Regatta on Saturday and Sunday, June 16 and 17.

The had an official christening and boat naming party for their new coaches boat over the weekend.

The boat has been named the "Casper" because it's white, it's wake is non-existant (ghostly) and most importantly, it's friendly—like the friendly people and the friendly waters of Long Lake.

The junior team and their parents, as well as a dozen new master rowers, several board members, along with honorary member (and former National Team member) Carolyn Leavenworth were all on hand to toast the maiden voyage of Casper, the friendly launch.

This boat offers superior safety to the members of the club, as well as being friendly to the shoreline with it's ability to speed along with the rowers without creating any wake.
