Lake Minnetonka Patch Game of the Week: Wayzata vs. Edina Soccer

The Trojans, who have won eight of their last nine games, face first place Edina Tuesday in a key Lake Conference soccer match.

LAST MEETING: Edina defeated Wayzata 1-0 on the road earlier this season.

ON THE LINE
The Trojans have won eight of their last nine games, and six straight since losing to Edina 1-0. They just missed making last week’s Top 10 and their four losses were all to teams ranked among the top eight teams in the state. Edina is ranked No. 5 and got revenge Saturday with a 1-0 win over Eden Prairie, the only team to defeat the Hornets this season.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
Mark Hoof – Wayzata outside midfielder
Senior captain who moved from sweeper to outside midfielder this season. The "A" student is considering schools like Air Force Academy, Carleton, Macalester and Vassar.

Jens Undlin – Edina forward
The senior has scored 14 goals in his 13 games and has five games of two goals or more this season. The next highest scoring Hornet has six goals.

TROJANS WIN IF...
They can continue to put pressure on opposing goalkeepers. They have 25 goals in their last five games.

HORNETS WIN IF...
They continue to their strong defensive play. They have allowed just one goal in their last five games and have eight shutouts this season.
