Lake Minnetonka Patch Game of the Week: Orono Boys Soccer

Defending Section 6A champion Orono faces International School of Minnesota in the first round of the playoffs.

On the Line
The Spartans are the fourth seed in the Section 6A soccer playoffs. They face No. 13 seed International School of Minnesota. Orono won the section title last season, but lost to Mankato East in the first round of the Class A title.

Players to watch
Willi Semsch – Orono forward
The senior is pacing the team with seven goals and five assists. 

Tarek Marei – International School of Minnesota attacker
The junior leads the Huskies in assists and goals this season.

Spartans Win If...
They continue their strong defensive play. They have three shutouts wins this season and allowed just ten goals in their last ten games. The Spartans were 6-0-2 in an eight game stretch before losing to No. 4 Rochester Lourdes 1-0 and No. 7 Holy Family Catholic 3-2 in their final two contests.

Huskies Win If...
They can put pressure on the Spartans’ defense. The Huskies scored ten goals in two shutout wins early in the season. They scored just ten goals in their rest of the year.
