Gallery: Wayzata Synchronized Swimmers Win State Championship

Wayzata High swims in the 2011 state synchronized swimming meet Thursday and Friday

The Wayzata girls synchronized swimming team rolled to the state championship on Thursday and Friday at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center in Minneapolis.

Wayzata compiled 169 team points en route to the win—collecting all but two first place finishes in the 12 events. Stillwater took second overall with 97 points.

Hannah Ogren took first place in the short solo competition and Amanda Urke took first in long solo.

Colleen Donlin and Hannah Ogren took first in the short duet, Katrin Ree and Haley Ruegemer took first in long duet and Natalie Bodin and Cayla Ebert took first in extended duet.

Colleen Donlin, Lucy Liu and Trisha Morrison took first in the short trio, Ree and Ruegemer and Urke took first in long trio.

Lydia Boike, Donlin, Morgan Foote, Kaitlyn Haller, Liu, Morrison, Ogren and Emily Turnquist took first in the short team competition. Amy Erickson, Gillian Mangan, Ree, Ruegemer, Urke and Hannah Weas took first in the long team competition. Natalie Bodin, Cayla Ebert, Alese Halvorson Paige Muncy, Kjirsten Ree, Ruth Schaefer, Laurel Streed and Tara Williams took first place in the extended team category.
