Football Friday Preview: Orono vs. Grand Rapids

Orono faces independent Grand Rapids at home on Friday.

Orono (1-4, Wright County Conference) vs. Grand Rapids (3-2, Independent)

PLAYMAKERS
-- Grant Schoen (Orono - Quarterback):
Has completed 65 of 125 passes for 582 yards this season.
-- Gavan Winkels (Orono - Offensive Tackle/Linebacker):
Leads the Spartans with 32 tackles in five games.
— Jamison Evans (Grand Rapids – Linebacker):
The junior made a key defensive play to preserve the Thunderhawks’ homecoming win over Duluth East last week.
-- Patrick Flaherty (Grand Rapids –Wide Receiver):
The senior is a sure-handed wide out for the Thunderhawks.
   
SPARTANS WIN IF...
They can keep getting good offensive balance. Four Spartan players have rushing touchdowns this season.

THUNDERHAWKS WIN IF...
They continue to prove that they match up well against Metro area teams. Thunderhawks are an independent, but they are facing Wright Country schools this year, due to an open week in the nine-team conference. They are 2-2 against Wright County Conference teams.
