Nick Martin, Wayzata (Quarterback): Martin’s leadership ability and numbers speak for themselves. He has 684 yards passing in the first four games of the season, averaging over 170 yards per game through the air. He’s thrown for eight touchdowns so far this season, and opponents better not forget that he can also gain big yardage with his feet.

Ethan Zeidler, Wayzata (Wide Receiver): Zeidler has been Martin’s biggest target so far this season. He has over 320 yards receiving throughout the first four games and is averaging over 20 yards every time he snags the football. Expect Martin to look for Zeidler in the homecoming matchup against the Skippers.

Rashad Cohen, Minnetonka (Running Back): Cohen is Minnetonka's biggest game-breaking threat at the running back position. He has 397 yards on the ground so far this season, averaging just under 100 yards per outing. He needs to be contained, or he will go off for a big game on the ground.

Malcom Moore, Minnetonka (Wide Receiver): Moore is Minnetonka’s biggest target when they drop back to pass the ball. He has 290 yards receiving through the first four games, averaging just over 17 yards every time he touches the football. Wayzata must keep Moore in front of them. If not, he will go for seven.

The Trojans win if…

They play better than they have in the first four games of the season. They are going to have to play mistake-free on both sides of the ball. In a close matchup like this, field position becomes vital to a team’s success. Trojans can’t give the Skippers a short field. They must make the Skippers go long yardage every time they get the ball.

The Skippers win if…

They play mistake-free football and contain Wayzata’s offensive weapons. They must contain players like Wayzata running back Erik Roti and quarterback Nick Martin if they want to stop the Trojan offense from breaking the game open. The Skippers also have game breakers, and they need to get their playmakers the ball as much as possible. The team that eliminates mistakes will win this game.

Key Injuries

Mitch Underhill, Wayzata (Running Back): Underhill tweaked his knee in the opening game against Prior Lake. An MRI revealed a torn ACL. He will be out for the remainder of the season.

Kit Snyder, Wayzata (Defensive End): Snyder dislocated his elbow in the win over the Wildcats in week two. His defensive presence may be sorely missed at defensive end this week against a talented Skipper offense.
