What You Need to Know Before Casting Your Vote for Wayzata School Board

The Wayzata School Board has four open seats with seven people vying for them. Need to catch up on the candidates, where to vote and more?

Election Day is upon us. Remember to get out and vote on Tuesday, Nov. 8.

There are seven Wayzata School Board candidates vying for four open seats. Board members get $360 a month, and the board chair receives $420 a month. Board chair Patricia Gleason is not running for re-election.

Three of the seven are incumbents, Linda CohenJay Hesby and Carter Peterson. The other candidates are: Gregory Baufield of Plymouth, Joan Curtiss of Wayzata,  of Plymouth and Nick Roehl of Plymouth.

Where to vote: There are five main polling places for residents of the Wayzata School District. Find your precinct and/or polling place on the Minnesota State Secretary website.

The polling places are:

• Wayzata City Hall, 600 Rice St., Wayzata. Serves: city of Orono Precinct 4; city of Plymouth precincts 12, 13 and 14.

Registering to Vote:

If you are currently registered to vote you do not need to register again unless you have: moved to a different address, changed your name, and/or not voted at least once within the last four years. You can register on Election Day, but you must provide proof of residence. How to verify if you are registered)
