Westonka U10 Girls Team Lights the Lamp in Duluth

After taking 1st place at the Eastview tournament and 3rd place at both the Orono and Hutchinson tournaments, the girls traveled up north to Duluth over the weekend for the St. Luke's Icebreaker girl's tournament.

The Mound Westonka U10 hockey team is having a great season with an overall record of 12-6 with two ties.  

After taking 1st place at the Eastview tournament and 3rd place at both the Orono and Hutchinson tournaments, the girls traveled up north to Duluth over the weekend for the St. Luke’s Icebreaker girl’s tournament.  

Westonka's U10s started the tournament strong with a decisive 6-1 win over Chaska. In the game the team had scoring from Kailey Niccum, Michelle Mazo and Grace Peterson.

Sarah Larson picked up the win with a strong outing in the nets.   

Next up was a hard fought 3-0 loss to a strong Cottage Grove team, who went on to take 1st place in the tournament.

A team highlight of the weekend was taking in the UMD women’s hockey game at Amsoil arena.
