Tonight: Orono Parent Association Hosts Discussion on Empowering Youth
Dr. Diann Ackard will offer information to parents about eating disorders, body image concerns, self esteem and depression in children.
The Orono Middle School Parent Association will host a special presentation tonight by psychologist and research scientist Dr. Diann Ackard, who will offer information to parents about eating disorders, body image concerns, self esteem and depression in children.
Dr. Ackard will also discuss empowering youth to grow up healthy and strong. Along with her private practice, Dr. Ackard conducts and provides research consultation to hospitals and universities, and is active on community boards focused on preventing disturbances and helping youth grow up strong and successful.
A question and answer period will follow Dr. Ackard's presentation.
