Shorewood College Student Will Spend Spring Break in Joplin
Cornell student heading to town leveled by tornado.
Kirtley Hitt of Shorewood is one of nearly 70 Cornell College students taking part in the college's annual Alternative Spring Break. This is the eighth year the college has sponsored a service trip that takes place during its 10-day Spring Break.
This year, students are going to Alamosa, Colo.; Joplin, Mo.; Maryville, Tenn.; and New Orleans.
Hitt is one of the students taking part in the trip to Joplin.

Joplin was devestated by a tornado in May of 2011.

Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa, is a national liberal arts college with a distinctive One Course At A Time (OCAAT) academic calendar.
