Orono Teacher Selected to Grow Minnesota's Honor Societies, Student Councils

Doug Erickson served as OHS Student Senate advisor for 32 years, and was the Minnesota State Student Council advisor for six years.

Doug Erickson, leadership teacher and boys golf coach at Orono High School, has accepted a half-time position as coordinator of student activities with the Minnesota Association of Secondary School Principals. 

In this newly-created position, Erickson hopes to grow both the Minnesota Association of Student Councils and Minnesota Association of Honor Societies in order to “provide more students the opportunity to expand their leadership vision.”

Erickson served as OHS Student Senate advisor for 32 years, and was the Minnesota State Student Council advisor for six years. In addition, he recently finished a two-year term on the National Association of Student Councils Advisory Board. He served as cochair of the board in 2012.
