Orono Students Display Artwork at State Capitol

The Capitol Art Show is a long-standing tradition of the Art Educators of Minnesota.

Two students from Orono Schumann Elementary and two students from Orono Intermediate School recently had artwork on display for Youth Art Month at the State Capitol in St. Paul.

Artists representing Orono Schumann Elementary were first-grader Jaro Doise and second-grader Brynn Crandall; artists representing Orono Intermediate School were fourth-graders George Abbott and Svea Torgerson.

The Capitol Art Show is a long-standing tradition of the Art Educators of Minnesota, in collaboration with the Council for Art Education and the National Art Educators Association, to recognize and promote the achievements of students throughout the state in the visual arts.

The show ran from March 25-31. A celebration with an opening reception was held for selected artists and their families on March 25 in the State Capitol Rotunda.
