New Westonka Logo Wins Award at Recent Banquet

Judges commented that the logo "feels fresh and modern while also keeping with traditional sports and team wear design."

Lake Minnetonka based MP&G Marketing Solutions received an Award of Merit for the Westonka White Hawks logo at the Minnesota Association of Government Communicators’ 31st Annual Northern Lights Awards Banquet on May 20.

According to the MAGC website, an Award of Merit is given for entries of high quality that are a credit to the organization for which they were created and which exhibit creativity and wise use of resources. The White Hawks logo was recognized by the judges for its “great competitive spirit and pride,” “excellent typography” and a “clean, dynamic, aesthetically pleasing” look.

Judges commented that the logo “feels fresh and modern while also keeping with traditional sports and team wear design.”

This year MAGC received 150 entries in 13 categories. Entries are judged by industry communications professionals in a field related to the category. Seventy entries were presented with awards; there were six entries in the logo category.

MAGC sponsors the Northern Lights Contest annually to recognize outstanding work in government communications. In addition to rewarding exemplary work in the public sector, the Northern Lights Awards Program provides valuable feedback from qualified judges who are communications professionals. The Northern Lights competition is open to communicators in the public sector, including federal, state, regional and local government agencies, non-profits and school districts) and to producers in the private sector who have completed work for Minnesota non-profit or government communicators.
