Carol Talus, a health paraprofessional at Kimberly Lane Middle School, has been named the Wayzata School District’s Employee of the Month for April.

Talus was recognized Monday evening by the Board of Education.

“Great employees do exemplary work with no attention to themselves, and Carol does that every day,” Wayzata Superintendent Chance Anderson wrote in a message of congratulations read during Monday’s meeting. “Students, staff and parents respect her professionalism and all of us at Kimberly Lane are grateful to work with her each and every day.”

Talus, a parent of two Wayzata High School graduates, joined Kimberly Lane Middle School first as a paraprofessional working mostly with first-grade students. Encouraged by her husband, Doug, she applied for and was hired as a health paraprofessional two years ago.

“It’s nice to be noticed by the staff at Kimberly Lane Middle School and the Wayzata School Disrict,” Talus said. “I love working with our students and want to thank them for always finding ways to make my day interesting.”
