Meet the Latest Lord Fletcher's Feature Teacher: Sarah Morinville

Morinville currently teaches chemistry, honors chemistry and AP physics at Mound Westonka High School.

teacher Sarah Morinville has been selected as the Feature Teacher for the month of May. Morinville has spent seven years in the Westonka School District. She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in chemistry from the University of Minnesota-Duluth and subsequently earned her Masters in teaching and learning from St. Mary’s University in Winona.

Morinville currently teaches chemistry, honors chemistry and AP physics at Mound Westonka High School. Prior to her years at Westonka, she taught a semester in both Edina and Stillwater.

“Sarah is more than deserving of this award due to her work in her science classes, advisory, assessment for learning and student celebrations,” said MWHS Assistant Principal Marty Fischer. “She is also just a really nice person.”

Outside of the classroom, Morinville has been an eighth-grade advisor for six years, National Honor Society advisor for five years and a member of the Professional Learning Community (PLC) group for four years. She has served one year each on the Technology Integration Learning Team (TILT) and the Assessment for Learning Project (AFLP).

She also spent one year with the Westonka Summer Institute, Costa Rica.

“The Feature Teacher recognition is truly appreciated,” said Morinville. “Teaching in the Westonka School District is a joy.”

Each Feature Teacher winner receives a certificate for a brunch for two at .
