Yin Yoga to Honor Kuan Yin: The Bodhisattva of Compassion and Healing with Shelly Shern

Kuan Shi Yin is celebrated as the Bodhisattva of mercy, compassion and sound. She is the enlightened being that responds to the people of the world who cry out for help. We will honor her by opening ourselves to our own unique essence through a practice of self-compassion and non-judgment.

This workshop will feature a series of passive, yet transformative Yin postures focusing on Kidney chi as it relates to the vibrant quality of your inner energy. This important meridian’s influence on your body-mind is connected with the limbic system, which regulates sleep patterns, energy levels and mood fluctuations that can challenge you during the winter months. Physically, by working with the deep Yin connective tissues, you will concentrate on strengthening and healing the low back, releasing the back of the legs and opening the hip joints.

This practice will be interwoven with mindfulness meditation, spiritual readings and purification techniques to awaken and enliven the Bodhisattva within.
