Campus News: Lake Minnetonka Area College Students Receive Academic Honors

Excelsior resident and Azusa Pacific University student Rachel E. Quinn made the academic Dean's List at APU. Quinn is honored for a fall semester 2012 academic standing of a 3.5 or better grade-point average. Quinn is a Mmarketing major.

Olivia Erin Bordson of Orono was named to the Dean's List for the fall 2012 semester at Washington University in St. Louis. Bordson is enrolled in the university's John M. Olin School of Business.

Upper Iowa University recently released its Presidential and Trustee Scholarship winners for 2012-2013. Jennifer Lyrek of Independence was the recipient of a Presidential Scholarship in the amount of $14,000.

Northwestern College announced that Natalie Pitts, daughter of Gregg and Patty Pitts of Mound, participated in the Northwestern College Choir & Orchestra Spring 2013 Tour. Natalie is a 2011 graduate of Mound Westonka High School and is currently a junior pursuing a degree in design.

The following area residents have graduated from the University of Minnesota, Morris:

Natalie Pitts, daughter of Gregg and Patty Pitts of Minnetrista, named to the fall semester Dean's List at Northwestern College in St. Paul. Pitts is pursuing a degree in design at Northwestern.

A. Nicholson Warner, a junior at Colby College in Waterville, Maine, was named to the Dean's List for his outstanding academic achievement during the fall semester of the 2012-13 year. Warner is the son of Bradley Warner and Elisabeth Turner of Deephaven and attended Blake School-Northrup Campus.

Caroline Palleschi, from Excelsior, was named to Villanova University's Dean's List for the fall 2012 semester. Palleschi is studying human services in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
