Tonight: League of Women Voters Hosts Candidate Forum in Wayzata

Forum is in advance of Aug. 14 primary to finalize candidates for Lake Minnetonka State House and State Senate races.

The Wayzata, Plymouth Area League of Women Voters is sponsoring a Primary Election Candidate Forum for Minnesota Senate District 33 and House 33B at 7 p.m. at .

The State Senate District 33 Republican candidates on the primary ballot for Aug. 14 are David Osmek and Connie Doepke, currently State House Representative of District 33B. Present State Senator of District 33, Gen Olson, is retiring.

Senate District 33 consists of the communities of Corcoran, parts of Chanhassen, Deephaven, Excelsior, Greenwood, Independence, Long Lake, Loretto, Maple Plain, Medina, Minnetonka Beach, Minnetrista, Mound, Orono, Shorewood, Spring Park, St. Bonifacius, Tonka Bay and Wayzata.

The Minnesota House District 33B candidates that will appear on the primary ballot are Cindy Pugh and Steve Smith, presently State Representative of District 33A.

House District 33B includes Deephaven, Excelsior, Greenwood, Minnetonka Beach, Mound, Shorewood, Spring Park, St. Bonifacius, Tonka Bay and part of Chanhassen.

Arrangements for video are being made with Lake Minnetonka Cable Commission. The forum will be replayed on Channel 21.
