Open House Announced to Discuss Future of Wayzata Boulevard

Residents and business owners will be able to speak with staff from Hennepin County and the consultant, SRF Consulting Group, Inc., about the proposed roadway and streetscape concepts.

Information provided by Hennepin County:

The public is invited to an open house from 4:30 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, to discuss improvements along the Wayzata Boulevard corridor from County Road 6 to Hwy. 12. The open house will take place at Lake Community Bank in the Community Room.

Wayzata Boulevard is an important four-mile-long corridor servicing the cities of Long Lake and Orono. A design team continues to evaluate the roadway to identify potential improvements to provide a safer and more efficient transportation corridor that will better meet regional and community needs.

Residents and business owners will be able to speak with staff from Hennepin County and the consultant, SRF Consulting Group, Inc., about the proposed roadway and streetscape concepts and view refinements to the proposed layout based on comments received at the previous open house meetings.

“Community input is very important to the Wayzata Boulevard project,” said Hennepin County Transportation Director Jim Grube. “We want to make this area safe and efficient for all users.”

The preliminary and conceptual design of the corridor is scheduled for completion by the end of 2013. For more information, residents can visit
www.CSAH112.com or call Jim Grube at 612-596-0307 or Mike Turner at 763-475-0010.
