Construction Alert: Met Council Begins Next Phase of Wayzata Sewer Line Installation this Week

Mobilization of equipment, tree removal, and excavation for the jacking pit on the north side of the railroad tracks is scheduled to begin the week of June 3.

Information via the City of Wayzata:

The third phase of the Met Council force main installation in downtown Wayzata—from Superior Boulevard East to Shady Lane—begins today.

The project involves the installation of a new 24-inch sewer force main, a new 8-inch water main and the construction of a roundabout at Lake Street and Circle A Drive.

Mobilization of equipment, tree removal, and excavation for the jacking pit on the north side of the railroad tracks is scheduled to begin the week of June 3.

This linked drawing shows the trees scheduled to be removed as part of the MCES Phase 3 forcemain project.  The trees could be removed as soon as June 3rd.

The following week, the contractor is proposing to commence installation of the new forcemain beginning at the west end and proceeding east. A detour of westbound traffic will be necessary once this pipe installation begins.  A detour route will be publicized, when available.

Substantial completion of the project is scheduled for November 27, 2013. Read more.
